Peace to you and all your loved ones. I pray that you are well and staying healthy during this difficult time in everyone’s life. Alumni, Benefactors, Friends of Sacred Heart High School, past and present staff, students and their families are all being remembered not only in the prayers of the Capuchin Friars, but also in a special way during private Masses being celebrated in the high school chapel. We prayerfully remember all of you and all of those who are suffering in any way from this global pandemic.
I think you’ll agree, our world has changed profoundly over the past few months. We have all been and will continue to be affected by COVID-19 in one way or another. We each have our own “new normal.” Unexpected accommodations and adjustments in our daily lives will continue, including here at
Sacred Heart High School.
Our faculty and staff have been working so diligently on behalf of our students. Like many other schools, distance learning was not something we were ready to launch at a moment’s notice! And yet our faculty and staff rose to the occasion and were willing to be taught themselves so that they could continue to educate and support our students remotely. Our parents and guardians have been supporting the efforts of our teachers and encouraging their sons and daughters’ full participation and cooperation with this new method of learning. But many are also concerned, and rightly so, about how they will continue to
meet all their financial obligations, including that of tuition.
During these unusual times, Sacred Heart High School faces unique challenges and shifting priorities. Mandated social distancing has caused us to postpone several major fundraising events.
To help us support students and families for whom this pandemic presents serious financial difficulty. we ask you to participate in a special appeal.
The generosity with which so many of you responded to our Chromebook Challenge enabled us to supply several faculty members and students with this necessary tool for Distance Learning
. For that, we sincerely thank you!
This special appeal, called theSHHS Relief Fund, will be used to help families affected by the current emergency. The fund will assist eligible families to meet their tuition obligations in order that SHHS is able to meet all our financial responsibilities.
No doubt you have already received other requests for help from different entities, and knowing how generous you are, you have probably already responded. If your finances permit you to contribute to the
SHHS Relief Fund our students and families will be able to continue their distance learning without the additional stress of not being able to “make ends meet.”
God bless you for your compassion and kind generosity. YOU keep the heart beating! On behalf of all of us, I send early prayerful best wishes for a happy, holy, Easter for you and your families.
With my deepest respect and gratitude,
Fr. Bob Abbatiello, O,F.M., Cap. '78
